The Driven Factor
Often I find myself pushing myself to ‘enlighten,’ which isn’t always a bad thing but it can mask programmes inside that could be addressed.
In the moments when I become aware of this inner ‘driven factor’ kicking in, I remind myself to stop and breathe, not in a driven or pushing way but in a gentle and relaxed way, specifically putting attention on the solar plexus and relaxing this area of the body, which allows me to connect to the essence of all that is inside.
I liken it to the gentle nurturing feminine aspect inside guiding the linear driven masculine aspect to become softer and more appreciative of that which it yearns for, union with the Beloved.
As my mentor, Tony Samara says: “Clear intention has a meaningful and positive impact.”
When we are focused on achieving success the intention sometimes seems to drift away from that valuable inner aspect, taking us further away from who we are rather than bringing us closer.
Let us strive to remember that beautiful and soft space within, in as many moments as possible, as we continue along this exciting spiritual journey.
I find this meditation extremely helpful to relax the solar plexus area where that driven factor often seems to live.

Spirituality is the thread that joins the world together once we remember that this is so. It is a daily part of my life as I live in a small spiritual school in Europe that lives following the guidance of Tony Samara. We are fortunate to have daily satsang each morning Monday to Friday and again on Sunday evenings. We spend our day focused on a karma yoga schedule that allows for us to put aside the mind, and to the best of our abilities immerse ourselves totally in the selfless services that we are to perform.
