Mohawk Warrior’s Morning Prayer

Creator….Great Spirit
“AHO”

Creator, I woke up to a bright and beautiful day.
Grandfather Sun is shining bright.
Creator it is a good day to die today.
I go to the battle with a good and pure heart.

Creator if it pleases you,
That I cross the river today,
I go proudly and willingly.
Knowing that I served you,
And my people well.
I will meet my ancestors with my head held high.
So be it.

AHO means: hear me.

Crossing the river means: the happy hunting grounds.

I work with Muskwa International Foundation Inc. which is an entity that was formed to assist the street children in the Philippines, mostly in Manila and Davao, the two largest cities in the Philippines.  You can find out about their projects here Street Children and Natural Disasters.

The stories I tell here I learned from the Elders and Story tellers and I am passing them on with their blessings. These stories can be anything from 4,000 to 5,000 years old.

    My Heavens,
Mr. Many irons, that prayer was lovely and touched a place so deep inside my spirit that I weep with knowing. Thank you for the spirit that IS YOU. I am honored to have chatted with you before and look forward to more heritage wisdom.
    In living light
