Energy Awareness
Recently I have been reminded to be consciously aware of the energy around me, to check the global energies more than ever before. Energy can have an adverse impact on each of us particularly if we are sensitive.
This summer I have often woken up after a decent night’s sleep to sunshine and birds singing outside my window, only to feel as if it would be better to remain in bed for the day. I have sensed heaviness in the air and in my heart for no personal reason at all. It happened on several occasions this summer, but there are two that I recall clearly. Once was the day that the priest was murdered in Brittany and this week on the day that the earthquake hit Norcia in Italy. Although unaware on waking, my body already told me that something was going to occur and in the case of Italy it had happened overnight.
I do remember meeting a close friend one day when I was struggling to function well and she said: “Siobhan this isn’t your stuff! You’re picking up everyone else’s negativity.” I felt so daft when she said it to me because she was right and yet I hadn’t realised. I did some exercises and soon came back to myself.
The vibration of the planet has changed dramatically in recent years and we are now very closely connected energetically. This is wonderful as when positive energy and love flood between us, the world smiles back at us. The world is changing for the better and we are blessed to be living at this time and to experience the changes. People are uniting and waking up.
Sensitive people such as myself feel it even more. Can you communicate with a friend on the other side of the world without picking up the phone? Or, you sense something’s wrong? He/she feels and senses you and gets in touch. This is not a rare occurrence these days.
So, what is the purpose of my writing about all of this? I feel that through being aware of what is around us, we can keep ourselves clean, raise our vibration, really be ourselves and enjoy life. If more of us did that, the world would change rapidly. I would like to share how I do my small part. Before then I would like to say a bit more.
I feel strongly that we each have to take responsibility for our energy field, what it is projecting and collecting along the way. For example, I have often sat with a person, someone that is loving and friendly and yet there is another energy behind him/her that is coming through. By being consciously aware, we can negate this type of energy that can become attached and deplete us.
The energy of our thoughts, our projections is felt by other people. If we are sad, angry or fearful even without uttering a word, the energy is sensed by another person and as the web of energy between us all strengthens, it can affect other people, sometimes without their knowing. Wouldn’t it be better to spread love and kindness? Are you aware of the people you attract in life and how people react to you? It’s an interesting exercise as it is very telling.
How do we remain aware? It does take work and effort. There are many techniques and lifestyle choices, but I’ll share mine with you. I meditate twice a day and consciously connect to the earth, sometimes for no more than fifteen minutes, normally with my bedroom door open that leads to the garden, as it’s so peaceful here. When I remember to, I create my day ahead, what it is I would like to achieve in my work, how I would like to feel and sometimes I throw in some surprise meetings and it works beautifully!
I spend as much time in nature as possible, in my garden or I walk in the countryside close to my home to stay grounded. Sun gazing also benefits me enormously as it upgrades the DNA. Sunshine moments have to be grabbed in the U.K. I dance and sing as much as possible as both shift the energy field and I practice yoga five times a week, more often if there’s time. We all know that the breath is one of the most powerful ways to remain centred, connected to the heart space and strong. And you don’t need to practice yoga to breathe deeply and consciously. When you feel stressed or confused, just take a moment.
I also cleanse my energy field regularly. Cleansing is essential and this can be done with incense of your choice, clearing the whole energy field on waking and last thing at night. A shower before bed can have the same effect if taken with that intention. Epsom or Dead Sea Salt baths are also effective. There are many cleansing sprays on sale these days. I personally prefer Agua de Florida from Peru as it resonates most closely with me.
Regular healing and body treatments are helpful, but be discerning with your choice of healer.
Protection is important too and there are many techniques. I personally use a golden tube of light and set the energy around my home too. Some people use bubbles, purple light and crystal owners set up grids to protect themselves and their home. You can find what feels right for you. Also set the energy ahead of your journeys.
And every so often when it feels right you should completely change your routine and the techniques you use. As you shift, your practice must do also.
Take time to tune into yourself and surroundings, make a note of what is coming at you, what you are projecting and try to be more aware. I’m certainly not perfect and some days completely forget to set my intentions or cleanse my field, but like you I am sure, I far prefer being awake and doing all I can to spread love and happiness.
Workshops coming soon.
