Freedom is Our Birthright

Julia ChiA year ago, my husband Anadi and I headed out of the town I had lived in for twelve years. We carried a bag each weighing no more than the 20 kilos flying allowance – our computers went in our hand baggage….
All we owned we carried with us…
We called ourselves nomads…
It was September 2014….

The previous August we had been on a ten day holiday in Santorini… ‘I’d like to do more of this’ Anadi had said one morning at breakfast….
A few days later over dinner under a full moon, I said, ‘If we are to travel more, why do we need a base?’
Thirteen months later, not only did we have no base, we owned very little….

Anadi and I met three years ago and found in one another a twin soul… We discovered that we had the same orientation as to what we experience as freedom…

For us freedom is having nothing to hold us down or hold us back from living consciously…
We recognise that owning things does not preclude someone from conscious living…!
But for us it has always happened quite naturally to shed possessions as we shed more of our inner blocks and resistances…

Anything holding us back from true freedom and love is within us and Freedom and love are in essence opposite sides of the same coin

Osho’s words resonated for me as Anadi and I took our path together…

‘For a lighter life, for a more playful life, you need to be flexible. You have to remember that freedom is the highest value and if love is not giving you freedom then it is not love’

Inner clearing is the way to true love and freedom… Trusting how this manifests in the material world is about surrender, an act of total faith….

As Anadi and I we have journeyed we have come across another name that resonates and reflects more accurately our lifestyle…

Freedom Preneurs…

‘The Unstoppable family’ coined the phrase ‘Freedom Preneurs’…

Brian and Rhonda Swan have been travelling the world with their daughter and earning a living as they go, having ‘swapped their business suits for bathing suits’…

They describe Freedom Preneuer’s as people who are discovering there are other ways to live life and to earn money, who are making lifestyle choices that bring happiness as well as doing good for others….

For Anadi and I it is about even more than the lifestyle…

It is about recognising that freedom is our birth right, and that we can clear everything within us and discover that ultimate love was always there within our own being…

I have been running all of my life – it feels I was born to run. In the running step I experienced freedom and my true expression. I came to see that I needed to ‘get out of the way of myself’ and let my energy flow through the running step; allow it to express itself in the dance and the motion of running.  I ran for England and GB for some years. My first international was in 1979, a three mile cross country race; and I continued to run at international level until 1993. Two of my best results were first place in the Dublin City Marathon in 1985 and 7th place woman, 3rd British woman in the 1986 London Marathon in a time of 2.36.31, which gained me selection for the Commonwealth Games.
