Bodhisattva Conversations with… Mary Thornton
Mary Thornton is a leading Physiotherapist in Clinical Pilates in the South East, she has over twenty years experience of using Pilates as a clinical tool within the NHS and private clinics and she is also a Yoga Teacher.
Mary established The Clinical Pilates Studio in 2007 which is a wellbeing Centre for physiotherapy, pilates and yoga where she empowers people through movement giving them tools to live a healthy life.
She saw the need for developing a centre of excellence to provide treatment and education to ensure people take control of their own bodies and become empowered through Physical Therapy.
In this podcast Mary shares with us her own journey and the importance of the breath in our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
I have been running all of my life – it feels I was born to run. In the running step I experienced freedom and my true expression. I came to see that I needed to ‘get out of the way of myself’ and let my energy flow through the running step; allow it to express itself in the dance and the motion of running.
I have also worked in the lives of others as a guide, counsellor, healer and teacher for over 40 years.
I lived as a nomad for 6 years with my husband Anadi, but my inner voice brought me back to the UK in May 2019 and I have been living and working and running in London since then….
