I have been through a turbulent time in terms of my moods and emotions. I have an idea of the cause, and it is in part due to domestic circumstances and my own ‘tortured’ creative mind (I say that very loosely, as I really have nothing to complain about). Anyway, I feel compelled to write this post on the nature of gratitude.
Part of my teaching from Spirit on the pagan path is that of being grateful. It doesn’t simply mean that we give thanks to our Gods and Goddesses for all the riches and life we receive. It means showing that gratitude in our everyday lives. This could be something very simple, such as feeding the birds in your back garden, or being polite to a neighbour or acquaintance and taking an interest in them if they seem lonely.
I spent many years being self-reproachful and angry about my financial and professional situation. When I was a teenager I was determined to become a successful career woman when I left college. I had very vague ideas at the time, and I was extremely naive because I led a sheltered and comfortable life. I had a lot of lessons to learn about people, society, and the wider world. I am still learning. I realise now that we are not automatically wise and knowledgeable when we reach our 18th birthdays. Far from it. We are deemed as adults by our society, because we are physically capable of providing for ourselves through work and using our brains for personal independence. But we continue to learn and grow.
I receive messages every day from my Spirit guides. These come to me in various forms. Recently I was scanning a blog post and was rushing to clear my email inbox and move on to the next busy job on my to-do list, so I was not really concentrating. It was only when my daughter reached over, hit the laptop keys and maximised the Tarot image on the blog post that the message came to me. I heard the message from my Angel guides, as follows:
“Surrender to the forces of Nature, and trust in our Great Mother to bring the abundance and happiness that you seek.”
My message was clear. I have to get out of my own way. Stop trying to force everything to some imagined perfect result. Everything in my life is on course, and will happen when it is meant to, in a way that is meant to be. For now I am simply grateful to have these experiences. I have a wonderful family, fantastic friends, and a beautiful creative mind that will continue to bring exciting revelations during the course of my human life.
What do you have to be grateful for at this time in your life? Do you understand the lessons and reason for the experiences you have so far received? I am very grateful that you took the time to read this post, and I send you on your way with love and happiness. It is there for us all to accept, only if we are willing.
