Horses Get Arthritis Too!
Pain and Inflammation can be traumatic for them.
A horse is no different to any other animal in that they suffer pain. Arthritis, inflammation from physical injury or any other means, can go unnoticed until it becomes a severe problem. And, with the cost of maintaining big animals, to invite the vet just to do a check up can be one cost too many.
At Remede Naturel we also run an animal rescue, mainly for cats, but other animals do arrive and some years back, Ninon, a little pony came to us, literally carried by six big men into the van. She had been incarcerated in a tiny box for weeks, so it took her over an hour to walk 25 metres, with long breaks along the way. She was under nourished, had severe arthritis and laminitis and, unbeknown to us at first, had a defect in her lower leg joints. Her pain was clearly excruciating. So at every stop her treats included good doses of Devil’s Claw which quickly took effect. We all, the vet included, thought that her arthritis was such that she could not put her hoof down straight, so automatically began a regime of more Harpagophytum, with high doses of Serrapeptase and Curcumin. The effect on the animal was, in the words of the vet, remarkable to see.
It was after the first month or so when the arthritis was cleared and her immune system was given a chance to get to work from the Curcumin that it became obvious that the poor thing had more serious problems. But, stabled with our own two, she was happy. As long as she was on thick straw bedding or soft grass she really showed a new, happy, lease of life. She was even known to have a little trot now and then. And as such she stayed for some time, until, we believe, she tripped or put a foot down wrong so that her discomfort was palpable. Horses can talk to others in silence; Ninon talked to us: “please put me out of my misery”. With many tears we quickly asked the vet to follow her request.
Prevention is better than cure, especially in older animals. A regular regime of Curcumin99™ and Serrapeptase Force Plus ™, as with humans, is one of the better ways to ensure that your horse remains pain, arthritis and inflammation free.
