Welcome to this month’s general card reading. I hope that it will resonate with those of you who read it and you will find it helpful.
Cards duplicated in last 6 months:
April and May – 4 of Pentacles
December, March and May – The Magician
February and May – 5 of Cups
There is still the tendency spilling over from last month to hold on to what we know and be very stubborn regarding our opinions. We could miss out on opportunities to expand our repertoire if we aren’t prepared to be more flexible, but are motivated by the fear of loss.
As we start off this month we are being asked the question – shall I stay with what I have, or should I venture in another direction? It’s not an easy answer for most of us as we might be quite happy with certain aspects of our current lives, but the door is opening and we are being beckoned in the direction of making changes.
The first part of May finds us holding on to opinions and personal beliefs. It’s all very well digging our heels in and refusing to budge, but we are just blocking money and resources which could come our way if we would just let go of the need to control everything. We have the opportunity of developing new skills and finding new pathways if we stop getting in our own way.
In the middle part of the month we will have a new burst of creative energy. We are unlikely to know what to do with it as it’s the beginning of a fresh journey, but the energy and enthusiasm will be palpable and our ultimate destination won’t be the first thing on our minds. It’s a time of self-reflection and we’ll be questioning our life purpose – the reason why we are on the planet at this time and what we have to offer on a deeper level.
Towards the end of May we will be more prepared to let go of our current circumstances and start something new, thereby reorienting ourselves on both an inner and financial level. As we are prepared to take these forward moving steps, opportunities will open up for us. We need to make sure that we don’t take on more than we can physically handle, so we would be wise to look at the options carefully and pick the ones that call to us specifically.
As we come to the end of the month there could be a sense of loss. Some of us might be feeling betrayed in some way and others might have experienced the loss of someone close to them. However, nothing is completely lost – we always benefit from our interactions with others and gain knowledge and wisdom from them and the life experience we have with them specifically.
Our luck throughout the month is the emotional and financial support we have from the people around us. We will be able to help those close to us and they will be able to help us in return. It’s a mutual support system and a true sense of community.
May could potentially be a month of expansion and forward movement if we don’t hang on tightly to the past and are prepared to go with the flow, rather than getting in our own way. There is a real tendency for self-sabotage here, so doing something relaxing like soaking in a hot bath, or meditating, could come in useful if we feel ourselves tensing up and being resistant to any thought of change. As Confucius once said ‘Even if we hold our hands very tightly together, we can’t stop the air inside them changing’. (or words to that effect!)
