Welcome to this month’s general card reading. I hope that it will resonate with those of you who read it and you will find it helpful.
Cards duplicated in the last 6 months:
December and January – King of Wands
December and January – 2 of Pentacles
October and January – Queen of Cups
September, November and January – The Chariot
August, September and January – 5 of Wands
August and January – Knight of Pentacles
The predominant message for both December and January is to get off the shelf, make some decisions and promote ourselves – if we have a good idea, now is the time to tell people about it and get them on board because it’s time to start something new – a new project, a new course of study or maybe a new business. The other energies that are re-emerging from within the last six months are those of making sure we have a good time and not to take life so seriously. Be focused and disciplined, not waste our energy getting annoyed when things don’t go according to our plans, but to go with the flow. Enjoy some peaceful, mundane time when nothing particularly exciting is happening as that’s when we get some much needed rest.
As we start off this month life can seem a bit mundane and boring, especially if we have had an active and entertaining festive season. Ordinary, everyday life with nothing exciting happening has now descended upon us. However, it’s a necessary part of life as this is when we regenerate, ground ourselves and prepare for more active times ahead.
The first part of January is a bit of a mixture of needing to lighten up and not take life so seriously, along with some battles with material reality where there could be a shortage of money, things could start to break down or everything at home might not be going smoothly. The message is really about not miserably wallowing in the things that aren’t going to plan and to realise that this is all temporary. If we can adopt an enlightened and philosophical view of it all, then the discomfort will pass much quicker.
In the middle part of the month we need to acknowledge and be really grateful for the loving, harmonious and supportive relationships that we have in our lives. It is those people who are behind us when we go out into the world promoting ourselves and our businesses. It is those people who provide us with a safety net, where we can lick our wounds before we get up and try again. Gather these people around at this time, because it is time for us to get off that proverbial fence and make ourselves visible to the world – if we have good ideas, then it’s time for us to get out there and tell people about them.
Towards the end of January we are going to need to be focused and disciplined and keep our eyes on our goal. There could be the temptation to become a bit over-controlling and snappy if our plans aren’t working to our own timescale, or in the exact way we had envisaged. It’s important to raise our eyes and focus on the goal and not on the inevitable stumbling blocks strewn along our paths. The energy we expend on every little grievance can much better be utilised as a positive step forward. Life happens, so it’s best not to sweat the small stuff. If we do get into a tizzy about it all, then taking time out in meditation and introspection would be an excellent idea. Take some alone time and block out all the external voices and opinions, so that the still small voice inside us all can be heard. This will help tremendously in keeping our balance, and our tempers!
As we come to the end of the month it’s time to venture onto a new project, a new course of study or a new business. This has been on the cards since December, but will be ramping up from 10th January onwards – things are starting to kick into gear.
Our luck throughout the month is following our intuition. Our lives this month could be a bit turbulent due to people and other pressures, so listening to our inner voice, cutting out the external noise, will be invaluable and help us keep grounded and balanced. That is a much better mind set to be in when starting off new projects – whatever they might be. So, whenever we feel a bit off balance, take a few deep breaths, stay still for a moment and close our eyes. In our minds, we can transport ourselves to a place where we feel safe – it can be a mountain top, by a body of water or in a forest glade. If we take some time being in that place, we will come back refreshed and better able to deal with whatever issue needs to be dealt with.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and a Jubilant January, where you will have skated over all the obstacles in your path and finished the month with a feeling of empowerment and excitement for the new ventures you have started.
